CCV Hall of Fame: Business Leader of the Year Award Ricipients
The CCV Business Leader of the Year Award is presented to the business leader who most embodies the spirit of integrity and generosity by reinvesting in the community that has supported their business success.
Don Cressy is known throughout our community and region as a tower of integrity. The generosity of Don and his wife Pat is unparalled. Don's business success with University Park Mall, Grape Road Business District and Edison Lakes Business Park to name a few has had a seismic impact on the local retail economy.
Wise leadership on the CCV Board of Directors and in several volunteer capacities over the past nine years has anchored CCV's place as a priority in the mainstream of Michiana's business community.
It is also true that CCV would not be what it is today without the generous financial support that Don and his wife Pat have so invested in CCV from the beginning.
Don's unequaled friendship, generosity, and wise counsel make him this inaugural year's CCV Business Leader of the Year Award recipient.
Larry Gates is admired for his ethics and generosity. The Gates name stands for integrity and community service here in Michiana. Larry has faithfully served the CCV Board of Directors with thoughtfulness and generosity. His genuine commitment to CCV's highest ideals has contributed greatly to the esteem that CCV is held in among the region's leading businesses.
The financial generosity of the Gates Family and their businesses have helped to make CCV what it is today. Larry's counsel continues to shape CCV efforts as we grow and respond to the challenges facing our community.
For his outstanding leadership and faithful friendship, we are please to recognize Larry Gates with the CCV Business Leader of the Year Award.
CCV has had the great support and friendship of a key group of business leaders since its founding. Because of that generous support, CCV has yet to pay one dollar in rent for its office. For more than 10 years, a series of business leaders have sponsored the modest and undisclosed office operation. And Jack has sponsored more of those years than anyone. The office is undisclosed now because of the attacks on the building where it was housed in its early years, when the windows were shot out three times as CCV’s adversaries tried to stop CCV leaders with death threats and acts of intimidation to prevent the passage of the now-famous adult business ordinances that were ultimately passed with unanimous bi-partisan support. For his faithful generosity in sponsoring the CCV office affectionately nicknamed, “The Bat Cave,” we are happy to honor Jack Young with the 2007 CCV Business Leader of the Year Award.
